Nicholas William Novosel


 

Nicholas William Novosel passed away at 8: 47 p.m. on Monday, March 11, 2024 at Hillsboro Area Hospital in Hillsboro, IL. He was 61 years old.


 

Nick was born on October 1, 1962 in Madison, IL to Nicholas Novosel and Dorothy May (Pospieshel) Novosel. He attended high school in Granite City, IL. Nick married Rushelle Lou Allen at Holy Trinity Church in Mt. Olive. She survives. He was employed in metal manufacturing and as a lab tech. Nick was an active member of St. John Paul II Catholic Church as a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Knights of Columbus. 


 

Nick is survived by his wife, Rushelle, a son, Robert Hawes, a daughter, Romeshelle Bell, five grandchildren: Jessalyn Wolf, Meggan Slaughter, Cheyanne Baxter, Alexandria Bell and Michaela Bell, five great-grandchildren, a sister, Linda (Randy) Brown, a nephew, Aaron Roberson, an aunt, Eve (Tony) Martin, and a cousin, Brad Martin.


 

He was preceded in death by his parents.


 

Visitation will take place on Friday, March 15, 2024 at St. John Paul II Catholic Church in Mt. Olive, IL from 10-11 a.m. They will recite the rosary at 9:45 a.m. Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. and will be officiated by the Very Reverend Thomas Hagstrom. Interment will take place at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Mt. Olive, IL. Lunch for family and friends will take place immediately following interment at St John Paul II Catholic Church Hall.


 

Memorials are suggested to the Mt. Olive Knights of Columbus.
