Jerry Potillo Obituary

Jerry "Kent" Potillo, 71, of Clinton, Utah formerly  Mt. Olive, IL, died on Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at 1 P.M. Veteran's Affairs Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT.
He was born on Sunday, December 8, 1946, in Granite City, IL, a son of Jeremiah and Louise Squires Potillo. He married Cheryl Anne Wood on Sunday, August 12, 1984, at their home in Mt. Olive, IL.
He attended Granite City Schools and graduated from  Granite City High School with the Class of 1964, he then attended De Anza College in Cupertino, Ca,
 A United States Air Force Veteran, he was employed as an accountant at Prairie Farms Dairy until he retired. 
He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and cracking jokes, he played Poley in the Turner Hall Poley League, and bowled in various leagues.  Kent was a former board member of the Mt. Olive Board of Education.
 
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl,  // two children, Kim Barto and husband, Nathen of Staunton, IL //  Sara Arias and husband, Victor of Clinton, Utah, // ten grandchildren, Nick Fenwick, Marissa Fenwick, Justin Potillo, Mitchell Fenwick, Konner Fenwick, Kellan Fenwick, Micah Fenwick, Jeremy Anderson, Jaci Anderson, and Claire Arias,// four great grandchildren, Jackson Kent, Grace Lyn,  Declan, and just arriving on September 14, 2018, Dallas //   a brother Robert Potillo and wife, Lu, of Wichita, KS // a sister Sandra Lee and husband, Richard of St. Louis, MO //, a sister Beth Miller and husband, Erich of San Fancisco, CA., and a brother Mark Potillo and wife, Andrea of Granite City, IL.
He was proceeded in death by a son, Jeremy Kent Potillo, his parents, and a brother, Kirk Potillo.

A Memorial Service will held at 3 P.M. Sunday October 7, 2018 at the Becker & Son Funeral Home, 221 South Poplar Street, Mt. Olive, IL
Eulogies by Kent's Brother, Bob and his Grandson, Justin.
Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 2 P.M. until the time of service.
Burial will take place in the Mt. Olive Cemetery with Military Rites by the Mt. Olive Area Veterans, the Flag will be presented by Ron Hubert to his Wife Cheryl, Ray Slapak and Laverne Rosenthal will serve as Honor Guard, Ernie Thomack will sing "God Bless America" and play Taps.
Music at the service, Kent's Sister Beth Miller will sing "In The Garden", Pianist and Soloist Ernie Thomack will sing "Old Rugged Cross" and "When We All Get To Heaven" at the Memorial Serve and "Amazing Grace" at the cemetery.  favorite recordings "Two Less Lonely People" by Air Supply and "Happy Trails To You" by Roy Rodgers and Dale Evans will be played at the service

Lunch for family and friends will take place at the Mt. Olive Turner Hall following the Burial.
 
Memorials are suggested to go to Mount Olive High School Academic Foundation.
