Schooling: She attended Nokomis Grade School and graduated from Nokomis High School with the class of 1943. She continued her education at St. John's School of Nursing, Springfield, Illinois and received her nursing degree.
Church:  a devoted member of Zion Lutheran Church, Mt. Olive.
Occupation: After receiving her nursing degree she worked at Hospitals in Grand Island and York, Nebraska before returning to Illinois and working at St. Joseph's Hospital in Alton,. Illinois and Wood River Township Hospital, after retiring from full time nursing she became a Pink Lady Volunteer.
Organizations: She was a member of the Wood River Garden Club, Republican Woman's Club, & the Mt. Olive Senior Citizens.
Interests: Loved traveling with her husband Lawrence and spending winters in McAllen, Texas. She fulfilled a life long dream when she purchased and renovated her Grandmothers home in Mt. Olive, proudly living there, with Lawrence, in their retirement years.  She especially loved socializing with her community friends, church friends, and family and truly did never meet a stranger.
 
Survivors: 1 Son: Lawrence Jerome (Charlotte) Steivers of  Stillwater Oklahoma// 2 Daughters: Cheryl Hinkle of Mt. Olive, IL //  Lynn (Donald) Haelhka of Huntington Beach, CA //  1 Sister: Milda Burns of  Albuquerque, New Mexico // 11 Grandchildren //  31 Great-Grandchildren // 3 Great-Great Grandchildren //  Many nieces , nephews sand cousins.
 
Preceded in Death: Husband:  Lawrence Homer Stivers  //  Parents: Henry Carl & Anna Luella Droste Hieronymus // 1 Sister: Mable Miller // 1 Brother: Merlin Hieronymus  // 1 Grandson: Stephen Borrowman // 1 Great-Great Grandson: Stephen Shiplett
A Memorial service and luncheon at Zion Lutheran Church, Mt. Olive is planned for this spring.
Visitation: 10:00 - 11:00 a.m, May 4, 2019. Zion Lutheran Church, Mt. Olive.
Memorial Service:  11:00 a.m. May 4, 2019, Zion Lutheran Church
Clergy:  Reverend Ben Fiori
Lunch:  for family and friends will be served in the Zion Lutheran Fellowship Hall served by the ladies of the church.
