Organizations: A member of International Union of Operating Engineers Local 150, Mt. Olive VFW Post # 5790, and played minor league baseball in Meridan, Mississippi, in the Cotton States League.
Military: A member of the United States Air Force serving in Korea from 1951 until his discharge in 1955 as a Staff Sergeant. Received the Korean Service Medal, U,S. Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
Interests: loved baseball & football, a longtime St. Louis Cardinal fan, watched western movies, especially when they starred John Wayne, and he spoiled his granddaughter while they shared ice cream.
