Alan Arthur Hasquin
Alan Arthur Hasquin passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL. He was 76 years old.
Alan was born on May 15, 1949, in Carlinville, Il to Emil and Elizabeth (Anderson) Hasquin. He served int he United States Army in Vietnam from 1970-1972. During his tour in Vietnam, he received the National Defense Service Medical, Combat Infantryman Badge, Vietnam Service Medal, Two Overseas Bars, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 DVC, and Marksman (M-16 Rifle).
He attended Ranken Technical College in St. Louis, MO earning an associate's degree. Alan married Linda Kay (Urekar) Hasquin on April 15, 1972, at the Church of The Ascension now St. John Paul II in Mt. Olive, IL and she survives. Alan was employed in carpentry maintenance at McDonnell Douglas/Boeing and later at Heritage Manor in Carlinville, IL. He was a member of the Mt. Olive VFW.
Alan is survived by his wife, Linda, a daughter, Nicole (Michael) Sellers, and two nephews, Jason (Brooke) Hasquin and Brad (Lori) Hasquin. An Uncle, Sam (Rae Marie) Anderson, Sisters-in-law and Brothers-in-law, Sharon (Emil) Lienard and Judy Goodnow.
He was preceded in death by, his parents, his in-laws, Rudy & LaVonne Urekar and his brother, Felician D. “Butch” Hasquin and several aunts and uncles.
Visitation will take place at Becker and Son Funeral Home in Mt. Olive, IL on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. A Second visitation will take place from 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at St. John Paul II Church in Mt. Olive, IL until the time of service at 11 a.m. Father Thomas Hagstrom will officiate. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Mt. Olive, IL.
Memorials are suggested to the Mt. Olive VFW, Mt. Olive Knights of Columbus, and Montgomery County Paws, in Hillsboro, IL.
