Anthony “Tony” John Dobrinic Jr.
Anthony John Dobrinic Jr. passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at 8:29 p.m. at Memorial Hospital in Shiloh, IL. He was 79 years old.
Tony was born on July 13, 1946 in Litchfield, IL to Anthony John Dobrinic Sr. and Marguerite Alma (Simmering) Dobrinic. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1968 and was honorably discharged in 1974. Tony married Sharon Carol (Soehnlin) Dobrinic on July 13,1991 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mt. Olive, IL. He worked as a highway maintainer for the Macoupin County Highway Department, retiring after 33 years. Tony loved hunting, fishing and camping. He also enjoyed playing the slots at the VFW, spending time with his dogs Lola & Buddy, but his greatest love was his children and grandchildren.
Tony is survived by his wife, Sharon, two daughters: Jennifer (Travis) Stockstill and Melissa (David) Brunnworth and two stepsons: Allen (Heather) Brannam Jr. and Scott (Jeni) Brannam, grandchildren: Wesley, Dalton and Carter, step grandchildren: Kayla (Tanner), Lauren and Alison (Andrew) and one step great-granddaughter: Eleanor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Kathy Rowell.
Visitation will take place at Becker and Son Funeral Home in Mt. Olive, IL on Monday, February 23, 2026 from 9 - 11 a.m. Interment and military honors will take place immediately following at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Mt. Olive, IL. Lunch will be served after interment at the Mt. Olive VFW.
Memorials are suggested to the Mt. Olive VFW and the Mt. Olive Care Center.
