Antonia (Meyer) Rosenthal Obituary

Antonia (Meyer) Rosenthal was received into eternal light on Thursday September 4, 2025. She was born on March 8, 1937 in Teslic Bosnia Yugoslavia. She moved with her family to Replin Germany Reher in 1942. In 1951, her family was sponsored to come to the United States by a relative. Her family then settled in Madison, IL. She married Eugene Rosenthal on May 2, 1959 in Madison, IL and made their home in Mt. Olive, IL where they raised four children. "Toni" was a homemaker who loved to cook, sew and crochet. She worked as a clerk for Dietekers, (later for Betty's Department Store), Major Variety and Niemann Lumber all in Mt. Olive.


 

Antonia is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Eugene, her parents Frank and Eva Meyer, her brothers Edward and Karl Meyer and a sister Monica Litzsinger.


 

Antonia is survived by her children Debra Heeren (Mark Thompson), Robert Rosenthal, Stephanie (Brian) Blankenship and Sandra (Kenneth) Young, 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and a brother Steve (Glenda) Meyer.


 

Visitation will take place at St. John Paul II in Mt. Olive, IL on Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. Funeral Mass will begin at 11 a.m. Father Thomas Hagstrom will officiate. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Mt. Olive, IL. Lunch for friends and family will take place at the Church Hall immediately following interment.


 

Memorials are suggested to the Calvary Cemetery and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
