Betty Jean (Looby) Pesavento Obituary

Betty Jean Pesavento

Betty Jean Pesavento died peacefully on Friday, June 14, 2024, at her home in Staunton, IL after a short illness. She was surrounded by her loving family. Betty was 94 years old.

Betty was born on June 27, 1929, in St. Louis, MO to William Edward and Viola (Kemper) Looby. She married Dominick Leo Pesavento on April 2, 1948, in Chicago, IL, and he preceded her in death on February 4, 2008. She worked for many years as a waitress and, as anyone can attest, had a great sense of humor and a kind word for anyone that knew her. Betty enjoyed scratching off lottery tickets and going to the “boat.” She also loved fishing and called herself “the catfish lady.” Betty was full of love, laughter, and resilience.

She is survived by her children: Donald (Bonnie) Pesavento, Mary (Dale) Johnson, Dominick Pesavento, Dolores (Michael) Peters, Bill (Carrie) Pesavento and, eight grandchildren: Joe (Mindy)Piller, Christine (Francisco)Arreola, Michael (Sarah) Peters, Dominick (Kate)Peters, Kenzie (Wrenna)Pesavento, Karissa (Blaine)Ray, Donald (Sarah)Pesavento and Victor (Rachel)Pesavento, and 9 great-grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, and her beloved husband, Dominick.

A private service will take place.
