Carolyn V. Davis passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at 5:22 a.m. at Litchfield Health and Rehab in Litchfield, IL. She was 86 years old.
Carolyn was born on August 27, 1937 to Charles and Elenor Degler in Staunton, IL. She attended Mt. Olive Schools. Carolyn married Donald L. Davis on August 27, 1955 in Mt. Olive, IL. He preceded her in death on February 8, 2017. Carolyn was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, and shopping yard sales. Carolyn had a heart of gold and was always there to lend a helping hand. She would help a complete stranger however possible. Carolyn enjoyed spending time with the family and grandchildren as well as traveling on the weekends with her husband. She also enjoyed going on crazy adventures with her cousin Tina Long.
Carolyn is survived by a son, Scott Davis, a daughter, Diane (Marty) Ritchie, previous husband to daughter Brenda, Glen Ritchie, a brother, Richard (Mary Jo) Degler, a brother-in-law, Vince Azzano, six grandchildren, Heather (Jeremy) Taylor, whom was like a fourth child to her, Jason (Kim) Ritchie, Sara (Dan) Tomblin, Mandy Davis, Ashley Davis, and Brandon Davis. And thirteen great-grandchildren, Kyrin Weller, Jaylynn Taylor, Araylius Taylor, Aiden Taylor, Hollis Taylor, Layla Taylor, Tyler Ritchie, Preston Ritchie, Parker Ritchie, Brianna Tomblin, Nathan Tomblin, Jasmine Nangle, and Derek Warren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Elenor Degler, her husband, Donald, a daughter, Brenda Holly, a grandchild, Ryan Ritchie, a sister Vivian Azzano, a nephew, Rodney Degler.
Visitation will take place at Becker and Son Funeral Home in Mt. Olive, IL on Friday, April 19, 2024, from 6 - 8 p.m. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 10 a.m. at Becker and Son Funeral Home in Mt. Olive, IL. Burial will immediately follow at the Mt. Olive City Cemetery.
