Carolyn Richardson
On the morning of Saturday, March 12, 2022, Carolyn Jean (Dugger) Richardson of Mt. Olive, IL passed away at the age of 74. Carolyn was a beloved wife to her husband, Larry G Richardson of Granite City, IL and loving mother of daughters Dione (Jeffrey) Rabida of Mt. Olive and Kimberly (Jesse) Doran of Hobbs, NM, and sons Edward (Sonya) Rudolph of Omaha, AR, Erron Rudolph of Litchfield, Daniel R Richardson (deceased), and Jason (Lyn) Richardson of Springfield, IL. She was born on May 4, 1947 in Coos Bay-North Bend, Oregon, the first child of Wayne Edward and Mary “Frances” (Shaw) Dugger. Carolyn is also survived by her sister, Martha (Don) Gabryshak of Neshkoro, WI, sister-in-law, Betty (Allon) Klingsick of Jefferson City, MO, brother-in-law, Russ Richardson of Bethalto, IL, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
After being a stay-at-home mom and homemaker for many years, Carolyn went on to work at the Super 8 in Staunton, IL for over 20 years where she was named the Pride of Super 8 in several Bed Making competitions.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband’s parents, Garland A and Ollie Mae (Woodward) Richardson, a son, Daniel R Richardson, a sister, Patricia A (Dugger) New, and a brother, Richard W Dugger.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 18, 2021, from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 noon all at Becker and Son Funeral Home in Mt. Olive, IL. The Funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 noon by Pastor Kevin Simburger at the funeral home. Burial will be on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, IL.
