Clem Marlin Less of Staunton, IL, passed away on March 16, 2017 at 11 pm at Community Memorial Hospital in Staunton, IL. He was born in Mt Olive, IL on September 28, 1928 to Joe Martin Less and Ruth Vera Heinz. He married Ethel Joann (Mitchell) Enloe on October 26, 1958 in Bunker Hill, IL. Clem served in the Army from 1946-1948, during World War II. He was a 1946 graduate of Mt Olive High School. Clem enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching sports, history and reading. He also enjoyed nature trails and Civil War battle fields. He also umpired and coached Little League. He was a tour guide at Cahokia Mound State Park. Clem was a board game enthusiast and a recycler. Clem helped at the family shoe store, Heinz Shoe Store. He is survived by his wife Joann Less of Staunton, IL, sons, Tim (Everli) Less of Niagra Falls, NY, Lony P. Less of Edwardsville, IL, daughter, Nyla Lee (Vern) Norris of Mt Home, Idaho, grandchildren, Lindsey Norris or Los Angeles, CA, Danika Pope, and Dalton Less of Oklahoma. Clem was preceded in death by his parents. No public services will be held. Becker and Son Funeral Home is in charge.
