Daniel Henry Schuette

Daniel Henry Schuette passed away at his residence in Mt. Olive, IL, on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at 1 p.m. He was 76 years old.

Daniel was born on April 11,1948 in Tuscola, IL, to Herman Louis Schuette and Esther Ann (Grosenheider) Schuette. He attended Livingston, IL, schools. Daniel worked at several dairy farms. He was also employed by Echlin in Litchfield, IL, and Highland Supply in Highland, IL. He married Virginia Barnes on May 31, 1980 in Gillespie, IL.  They later divorced. On January 8, 1998, he married Sandra Kay (Bridges) Schuette in Carlinville, IL, and she survives. In his spare time, Daniel enjoyed riding his motorcycle and attending motorcycle races and hill climbs.  Dan loved his family and delighted in gathering to celebrate the holidays with lots of food and games.  On many July 4th’s, Dan and his brother, Joe, would stage a spectacular fireworks display.

Daniel is survived by his wife; his son, Clay (Stacy) Schuette; a brother, David (Kathy) Schuette; sisters: Jane Blotevogel, Joy (Jim) Furey, and Gay Anschutz; sister-in-law, Leslie Schuette, and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents: Frank and Mina Grosenheider and Henry and Louise Schuette, his first wife, Virginia, a brother, Joseph Schuette, and a brother-in-law, Barry Anschutz.

A graveside service will take place Friday, January 17, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Spangle Cemetery in Staunton, IL.

Memorials are suggested to the United Church of Christ in Staunton, IL, where Dan was a member.
