Dennis James Bloemker

Dennis James Bloemker passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at his residence in Mount Olive, IL. He was 72 years old.

Mr. Bloemker was born on October 24, 1951 in Staunton, IL to Elton and Alma Bloemker. He attended Staunton High School and graduated with the Class of 1970. Mr. Bloemker married Gale (Guiliani) Grejtak on September 25, 1998. They were married 25 years, and she survives. Mr. Bloemker loved playing poker with his brothers, sons and grandsons. He also enjoyed boating and loved going to Kentucky Lake. He served in the National Guard. Mr. Bloemker was employed as a truck driver and retired from Tubular Steel in Staunton.

He is survived by his wife, Gail; two sons: Michael (companion, Debbie Bowen) of Jerseyville, IL and Robbie (Dawn) Bloemker of Edwardsville, IL; two stepsons: Dennis Hoehn of Hamel, IL and Steve (Tessa) Grejtak of Mount Olive, IL; four grandsons: Blake, Blaine, Grady Bloemker and Max Grejtak; a sister, Sharon Hancock of Edwardsville, IL, a brother-in-law, Steve Kuba of Florida, and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jane and Dale Baniak of Chesterfield, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Stanley, Sanfred and Donald Bloemker; two sisters: Shirley Brashears and Shirlene Kuba; and two brothers-in-law: Ted Hancock and Ted Brashears.

Visitation will take place at Becker and Son Funeral Home in Mount Olive, IL on Saturday, November 18, 2023 from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 12 p.m. Pastor Nancy Hubert will officiate. Lunch for family and friends will be served at Blessed St. John Paul II Church Hall after the service.

Memorials are suggested to the Mount Olive Care Center or the Mount Olive Academic Association.
