Dorothy Ann Arzig Stoddard

Dorothy Ann Arzig Stoddard passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at 12:10 a.m. at Staunton Health and Rehab in Staunton, IL. She was 91 years old.

Mrs. Stoddard was born on July 13, 1932 to Herman Edward Arzig and Amanda Fritzsche Arzig. She attended Immanuel Lutheran Grade School and Mt. Olive High School in Mt. Olive, IL. She married Raymond D. Stoddard at the home of Eugene “Jeep” and Dolores “Pete” Niehaus. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Lydia Circle in Mt. Olive, IL, a lifetime member of the Mt. Olive VFW’s Ladies Auxiliary Post 5790, Ladies Auxiliary for Amvets, member of A.T.A. and an election judge.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond David Stoddard, a daughter, Carol Jean (Daniel “Danny”) Pinkerton, a grandson, Daniel Scott Pinkerton II and a sister, Betty Shaw of Springfield, IL and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Stoddard was preceded in death by her parents: Heman and Amanda Arzig, a son, Donald Ray Stoddard, two brothers: Norman and Kenneth Arzig, and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Visitation will take place from 10 - 11 on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mt. Olive, IL. The service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor James Ritter officiating. Burial will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Lunch will be served by the Lydia Circle in the Immanuel Lutheran Educational Building.
