Gary G. Robertson 

 

Gary G. Robertson passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 6:44 a.m. at his residence in Mt. Olive, IL. He was 75 years old.

 

Gary was born in Hillsboro, IL on September 26, 1950 to Don Robertson and Annabelle (Simmons) Robertson. He attended Hillsboro Grade School and graduated from Hillsboro High School with the Class of 1968. Gary enrolled at MacMurrary College in 1968 and graduated in 1972 with a Bachelors Degree. He married Janet S. (Haberman) Robertson in Hillsboro, IL on November 23, 1972. Gary served in the United States Air Force from 1972 until 1976. After serving in the military, Gary worked for the United States Postal Service until his retirement. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, the AMVETS, and the American Motorcyclist Association.

 

After retirement, Gary and his wife Janet enjoyed traveling the country, especially on his Honda Shadow motorcycle. In recent years you could find them out for a cruise on their Can-Am Spyder. In his leisure time Gary enjoyed reading good books, motorcycle magazines, and newspapers. He also enjoyed golfing, watching his grandson's sports, good movies, music, and food, and gatherings with great friends.

 

Gary was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and a friend to many. Gary is survived by his wife, Janet S. Robertson, a daughter, Julie A. Robertson, a son, Andrew M. Robertson (Alecia), a twin brother, Larry D. Robertson (Lee), and a grandson, Tyler J. Robertson.

 

He was preceded in death by his father, Don H. Robertson, his mother, Annabelle L. Robertson, and his brother, John A. Robertson.

 

Services will be held at a later date.

 

Memorials may be made to Adopt-a-pet, Benld, or Mt. Olive Public Library.
