Obituary

Jason “Meathead” Andrew Collins passed away at 10:09 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17,2022 at SSM St. Clair Hospital in Fenton, MO with his wife by his side. He was 45 years old.


 

Jason, the son of Floyd Ralph Collins and Claudia Dianne (Lewis) Collins, was born on May 25, 1977 in Sierra Vista, Arizona. He married Alexandra (Booth) Collins in Litchfield, IL on July 9, 2016. Jason graduated from Mt. Olive High School. He went on to earn an associate degree and worked as a technical analyst.


 

Jason is survived by his parents, wife, daughter, Anya Collins, and two brothers: Floyd Collins Jr. of Charleston, IL and Josh Collins of Mt. Olive, IL.


 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his sister, Jessica McCollum.


 

Jason’s favorite activity was spending time with his daughter. He was an avid superhero fan, specifically Superman. Jason had a large group of friends that he looked to as family, including his lifelong friend Gabe Dexheimer.


 

A celebration of life will take place this Saturday, August 27th from 2:00-5:00pm at the Turner Hall in Mt. Olive, IL.


 

In lieu of flowers and trees memorial donations are suggested for his daughter, Anya Collins.
