Schooling: attended Staunton Grade School and graduated from Staunton High School with the Class of 1940. After High School she attended St. Louis School of Business graduating with an Accounting and Bookkeeping Degree.
Church: Active member of St. Paul Church of Christ, Staunton, Illinois. A member of the choir and Woman's Guild // After moving to Mt. Olive she joined Zion Lutheran Church staying active in the Zion Church Choir until the age of 92.
Occupation She worked for the Granite City Depot during WWII. // Bookkeeper for Staunton Bottling Company and Cook's Beer Distributor owned by her husband Clinton Farris and father Norman Chapman. Bookkeeper for McCay Auto Parts, Staunton, Illinois // Office Clerk in payroll at SIU-E, Edwardsville, Illinois until her retirement in 1980.
Organizations: Member of the Collinsville Chapter Sweet Adelines // Staunton Hospital Auxilary.// Staunton Country Club where she was an avid golfer.
Interests: Rock Hound who loved making jewelry // Avid Fisherman // loved playing cards with friends and was a bit of a gambler. She enjoyed traveling.
