Karen Ann Scheller

Karen Ann Scheller passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at 4:34 a.m. at Gillespie Health and Rehab in Gillespie, IL. She was 73 years old. 

Karen was born on December 30, 1952 to Everett Leslie Schoen and Lorene (Monke) Schoen. She attended Mt. Olive schools and graduated with the Class of 1971. Karen earned an Associates Degree from Lincoln Land Community College in 1992. Karen worked in health care. She was employed at St. Francis Hospital as a respiratory therapist. Karen was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mt. Olive, IL. 

Karen is survived by a son, Steven (Michelle) Scheller of Cedar Hill, MO, and a daughter, Amanda (Terry) Butts of Mt. Olive, IL, two grandchildren: Caleb Butts and Carly Butts, three sisters: Kathy Schoen of Walshville, IL, Sandie Schoen of Staunton, IL, and Susie (Freddy) Wesson of Litchfield, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Lorene Schoen, her husband, Donald Scheller, and a son, Christopher Scheller.

A graveside service will take place at the Union Miners Cemetery on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at 11 a.m.

Memorials are suggested to the Mt. Olive Academic Foundation.
