Military: A member of the United States Army serving during WWII. Attained the rank of Corporal in the Military Police. Was a Prisoner of War . Received the Good Conduct Medal // European-African and Middle Eastern Campaign Ribbon // American Theatre Ribbon // WWII Victory Medal // 2 Bronze Campaign Stars and a Combat Infantryman's Badge.
Interests: Enjoyed yard work and gardening // An avid Cardinal fan // Especially loved taking the Veterans Honor Flight in June of 2010.

Music: Organist: David Cisler accompanied the congregation on "In The Garden" & "The Old Rugged Cross" and Soloist, Ernie Thomack sang "Amazing Grace".
Military Rites: The flag will be folded by Ron Hubert and LaVern Rosenthal and presented to Vi Fischer by Ron Hubert. Ray Slapak and Richard Willows served as Honor Guard. Ernie Thomack sang "God Bless America' and played Taps at graveside.
Lunch: Family & Friends will be served at R & B's Restaurant in Staunton, IL after the service..
Memorials: Zion Lutheran Church, Staunton, IL.
