Larry Lee Marburger

 

Larry Lee Marburger passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Litchfield Health and Rehab in Litchfield, IL. He was 86 years old.

 

Larry was born on November 28, 1939 in Walshville, IL to Alfred and Hilda (Niemann) Marburger. He served in the United States Army. Following his honorable discharge from the military, Larry worked at Hano Business Forms in Mt. Olive then owned and operated an excavating business. He married Dorothy (Trill) Marburger on April 1, 1961, and she preceded him in death on January 13, 2026. Larry was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Mt. Olive, IL.

 

Larry is survived by a son, Alan Marburger, and a daughter, Cathy (Rick) Gerhardt, grandchildren: Zachary (Andrea) Marburger, Austin Marburger, Allison Marburger and Candice Gerhardt, and great-grandchildren: Aleigha and Alaina, a brother, Gene Marburger, and sisters: Gladys Durbin, Delores (Joe) Jordan, and Bettey Kasowski. 

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

 

Visitation will take place at Zion Lutheran Church in Mt. Olive, IL on Saturday, June 13, 2026 from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. The service, officiated by Pastor Zachary Krampien, will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Mt. Olive City Cemetery. Lunch for family and friends will immediately follow interment at Zion Lutheran Church Hall.

 

Memorials are suggested to the Mt. Olive Zion Lutheran Church and the Mt. Olive Care Center.
