Lois Jean Mihelcic
Early in the afternoon on November 4th, Lois Jean Mihelcic peacefully returned home. Born on February 27th, 1938 to the late Oliver and Helen (Sewing) Grosenheider. Lois was the eldest of four children, Judy (Fred) Fellin, William (Margarette) Grosenheider, and Marla Zubal, all of whom reside in the Mt. Olive area.
Lois attended Zion Lutheran School through eighth grade and then finished the next four years at Mt. Olive High School. She married John, her husband of sixty-five years. Together they had four children, Kay (Kelly) Brines, Kevin, Ken and John. Four grandchildren, Valerie (Brandon) Frizzo, Jeb Brines, Dr. John Mihelcic, and Michael Mihelcic. Three great-grandchildren, Brayden Smiley, and Jake and Dexter Frizzo.
Lois truly enjoyed life with her highly spirited character and love for children. A home maker at heart, Lois also participated in many other diverse activities: seamstress, bus driver, school district cook, as well as Township Tax Assessor. Lois exemplified strong religious beliefs while actively engaged with her church family at Zion American Lutheran Church in Mt. Olive. Lois seemed to be graced by the Holy Spirit portrayed through her strong will and morals. She could always lift another's soul through her compassionate empathy and love. Socially, Lois sought out many outlets such as bowling, volleyball, pinochle clubs, and the Mt. Olive Senior Citizen’s Club. Her favorite times of the year were holidays when she prepared full meals for all, then engaged in afternoon games where laughter and good will were shared year after year.
