Mary J. Baker (Gorman) was born on January 2, 1948 to Ralph B. Shirley and Hazel Green Shirley. She passed peacefully on January 6, 2025 at Manchester Rehab Center in Ballwin, MO. She was 77 years old.

 

She was married to Frankie J. Baker on Friday, August 17, 1979 until he was laid to rest on Sunday, March 25, 2007. On August 2, 2012, she married Donnie Gorman and he was laid to rest on August 16, 2023.

 

Mary was a Nurse and enjoyed helping people. She loved dogs and enjoyed taking on rescues. Her hobbies included sewing, reading and playing games.

 

Surviving are her children: daughter, Pamela (Ray) Berrong of Bonita Springs, FL; daughter, Michelle (Tom Braun) Semon of Racine, WI; and son, Joseph (Val) Korunka of Mount Olive; two brothers: Butch (Maggie) Shirley of Greenup, IL; David (Toby) Jones of Holt Summit, MO, seven grandchildren: Mallorie Thornhill, Mitchell Reinbold, Brianna Reinbold, Quinton Tomso, Sarah Tomso, Olivia Korunka and Garrett Korunka; one step granddaughter: Brittney Card Baker; six great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: husbands, Frank Baker, and Donnie Gorman; her parents, Ralph Shirley and Hazel Green Shirley; stepmother, Doris Shirley; five sisters, Cynthia McLean, Rita Schartzer, Vivian Stahr, Alice Manny and Connie Almon; brother, Thomas Shirley; stepbrother, James Cordray; and daughter, Melinda Reinbold.

 

Visitation will take place at Becker and Son Funeral Home in Mt. Olive, IL. on Friday, January 10, 2025 at 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. when the service, officiated by Father Thomas Hagstrom, will begin. Interment will be in the Mt. Olive City Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to lunch at the Mt. Olive VFW immediately following interment.

 

Memorials are suggested to the Mt. Olive Academic Foundation and the Mt. Olive VFW.
