Raymond David Stoddard

 

Raymond David Stoddard passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 4:57 p.m. at Staunton Hospital in Staunton, IL. He was 93 years old.

 

Mr. Stoddard was born on June 23, 1931 in Mt. Olive, IL to Dave Stoddard and Florence (Williams) Stoddard. He attended Mt. Olive High School. Mr. Stoddard served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He married Dorothy Ann Arzig on January 12, 1952 at the home of Eugene “Jeep” and Delores “Pete” Niehaus. Mr. Stoddard was a member of the VFW Post 5790 and A.T.A. He was employed as a pipefitter at Olin Brass Corporation in East Alton, IL.

 

Mr. Stoddard is survived by a daughter, Carol Jean (Daniel “Danny”) Pinkerton and a grandson Daniel Scott Pinkerton II.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dave and Florence Stoddard, his wife, Dorothy Ann Stoddard, a son, Donald Ray Stoddard, and four brothers: Robert, Russell, Orville and Vernon.

 

Visitation will take place on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mt. Olive, IL from 10 - 11:00 a.m. The service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor James Ritter officiating. Interment will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Lunch for friends and family will be served by the Lydia Circle in the Immanuel Lutheran Educational Building immediately following interment.

 

Memorials are suggested to the Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Mt. Olive VFW.
