Robert Philip Petroline

Robert Petroline died on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at 2:10 p.m. in his home after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was 66 years old. 

He is survived by his wife, Lori Petroline; his son, Dustin Petroline and fiance, Christine Roach Cooley; his son, Brendin (Celia) Petroline; three grandchildren: Makenna, Evan, and Bessie Lyn; and his father, Charles Petroline. He was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Petroline and his mother, Florence Petroline.

Robert “Bob” Philip Petroline was born on February 15, 1957. He married Lori (Thimsen) Petroline on May 29, 1982 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mt. Olive. Bob was passionate about his family, especially his three grandchildren, and farming. He loved attending tractor shows in Carlinville and reading books on agriculture. His favorite family vacations were spent in Mt. Pleasant, IA attending the annual Midwest Old Thresher Tractor Reunion. Bob also enjoyed painting on canvas. Bob’s local memberships included the Labor Local 338 in Wood River IL, Knights of Columbus of Mt. Olive and St. John Paul II Catholic Church.

Visitation will take place at Becker and Son Funeral Home on Monday, April 24, 2023 from 5 - 8 p.m., with the Rosary beginning at 7:30. 

A second visitation will take place before Mass at St. John Paul II Catholic Church in Mt. Olive on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 from 10 - 11 a.m. Mass will begin at 11 a.m. with Very Reverend Thomas Hagstrom officiating. Interment will follow at Chapman Cemetery in Mt. Olive. Lunch will be served by the Altar and Rosary Society at St. John Paul II Church Hall immediately following interment. 

Memorials are suggested to the Society for the Blind in St. Louis, MO and the Children’s Miracle Network.
