Ruthmary Eleanor Zubal
Ruthmary Eleanor Zubal, formerly of Mt. Olive, IL, passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at 1:03 a.m. at Heritage Health in Staunton, IL. Ruthmary was 95 years old.
Ruthmary was born in Mt. Olive, IL on June 24, 1925, the daughter of John Yancik and Anna (Tomso) Yancik. She attended school in Mt. Olive and later worked at Western Cartridge in Alton, IL as a secretary. Ruthmary was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Mt. Olive where she was the organist in the choir for many years. She married Clarence Zubal on August 30, 1947 at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church. He preceded her in death.
Ruthmary is survived by her son, James (Lynn) Zubal, three granddaughters: Stephanie Zubal, Stacey (Eric) Karlovic, and Amy (Jason) Bouillon, and four great-grandchildren: Charlie and Henry Karlovic and Oliver and Alyvia Bouillon, a brother, Dave (Norma) Yancik, and two sisters Clara Dobrino and Joan Langewisch and a sister-in-law Kathleen Yancik.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Robert Yancik and brother-in-law Tom Dobrino.
Private services will take place on Monday, April 5, 2021, from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. at St. John Paul II Catholic Church in Mt. Olive, IL. Funeral mass officiated by the Very Reverend Thomas Hagstrom will begin at 11 a.m. Christian Burial will take place at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to St. John Paul II Catholic Church and the Holy Trinity Cemetery.
