Sandra Dragovich

Sandra Dragovich passed away on Thursday, November 25 at 7:30 a.m. in her home in Gillespie, Illinois. Sandra was 85 years old.

Sandra was born on May 30, 1936 in Litchfield, Illinois, to Michael John and Julia Holesko. She was baptized and received her First Communion and Confirmation at SS Simon and Jude Catholic Church in Gillespie, Illinois. She married Charles E. Dragovich on February 11, 1956 in Springfield, Illinois, and in 2021, they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.

She is survived by her husband, a daughter, Julie (David) Hausner, a son, Charles M. Dragovich (David Silva), a granddaughter, Kristen (Tim) York, her grandson Ryan (Kelly) Fischer, two great-grandchildren: Mia and Landon York, a brother, George (Jean) Holesko and special friends Karen and Richard Heyen.

Sandra was a Loan Officer at the 1st National Bank of Mt. Olive and Vice President and Loan Officer of the Loan Dept. at the People’s State Bank in Gillespie. She volunteered at Heritage Manor Nursing Home and was a member of St. Simon and Jude Altar Society. She loved playing Pinochle, cooking and baking her famous “GiGi Cookies”.

A memorial mass will be scheduled for a later date.
