Shareen Kay Adden

 

Shareen Kay Adden passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 12:09 p.m. at Litchfield Health and Rehab in Litchfield, IL. She was 77 years old.

 

Shareen was born on August 28, 1947 at St. Francis Hospital to Leo and Helen Kelley. She attended Holy Trinity School in Mt. Olive, and she graduated from Mt. Olive High School with the Class of 1965. Shareen married John Adden on November 14, 1970 at the Ascension Church in Mt. Olive, IL, and he preceded her in death.

 

She was a homemaker, a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary and the Farm Bureau. Shareen enjoyed traveling to different areas of the country and spending time with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed playing puzzles and games with her great-grandsons.

 

Shareen leaves behind two daughters: Stephanie Stevenson and Stacey (Jonathan) Hellerud, four grandchildren: Ashleigh and Danielle Stevenson, Kyle (Jordyn) Hellerud and McKenna Hellerud and four great-grandsons: Emrys, Tobias, Rune, and Halen, a brother, Jim Kelley, three sisters-in-law: Sharon (George) Southwick, Carol Wickline and Donna Carter, numerous nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents: Leo and Helen Kelley, her husband, John, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Melvin and Marian Adden and sister-in-law, Pam Kelley.

 

There will be two opportunities for visitation. The first will take place on Monday, May 5, 2025 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Becker and Son Funeral Home in Mt. Olive, IL. A second visitation will be on Tuesday morning from 10 - 11 a.m. The service will begin at 11 a.m. with Pastor Nancy Hubert officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Olive City Cemetery. Lunch for family and friends will take place at the Mt. Olive VFW immediately following interment.
