Sondra Anne Gonzales

Sondra Anne Gonzales passed away at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois, on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at 5:20 p.m. She was 86 years old.

Sondra was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on April 1, 1935, to Sal Miller and Anne Dobrinich. She was a homemaker and an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.  Sondra was a member of the Ascension Catholic Church in Mt. Olive, Illinois.

She is survived by three sons: Daniel (Dawn) McCarthy of Mt. Olive, Illinois, Steve (Lisa) McCarthy of Highland, Illinois, and David (Angela) Gonzales of Redding, California, eight grandchildren: Deeana (Chris), Daniel (James), John (Jennifer), Chelsie (Wayne), Sabrina (Jacob), Shelby, Jackie (Chris), Katherine (Seth), twelve great-great grandchildren with one on the way, one brother, Robert Russell of Lotus, California, two sisters: Linda McHoney and Nancy Cremer both of St. Louis, Missouri, eleven nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.

Sondra was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Dolores Tepper, brothers-in-law, Max Tepper and James McHoney, her step-mother, Julia T. Miller and step-father George Russell.

A private family memorial will take place at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to the St. John Paul II Catholic Church or the American Heart Association.
