Velma Ruth Buske passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. at her home in Troy, Illinois. Velma was 82 years old.
Velma was born on September 20, 1939 in Salem, Illinois to Harry and Hazel Helm. She graduated high school and worked as a real estate broker. Velma owned and operated Gateway Properties in Collinsville, Illinois. She married Glenn Allen Buske on September 5, 1959 in Litchfield, Illinois.
Velma is survived by her husband, Glenn, 3 sons (Brad, Greg and Mike), 6 grandchildren (Rachel, Brianna, Jake, Noelle, Reed and Sadie), and 2 siblings (Marlene and Kenneth).
Velma was preceded in death by her parents (Harry and Hazel) and 6 siblings (Joyce, Lowell, George, Robert, Phyliss and Beverly).
Visitation will take place on Monday, October 11, 2021 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church in Troy, Illinois. Church service will begin at Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 12, 2021. Graveside service will be at Mt. Olive City Cemetery in Mt. Olive, Illinois. Lunch will follow at Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church Hall.
