Wayne Dale Bruhn Sr.,70, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2015, at home surrounded by his family.

He was born on September 3, 1944 in Staunton, IL, a son of the late Edwin and Anna (Stipcak) Bruhn.

Wayne married Carol Sue McRill on October 30, 1963. He graduated from Staunton High School and was employed by Shell Oil Company, Woodriver, Illinois, for 25 years, retiring in 2000.

Wayne's interests included gardening, yard work, and he was an avid high school football fan.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Sue Bruhn of 51 years. Also surviving are four sons: Wayne Jr.(Kelly) Bruhn of Staunton, Tim (Barb) Bruhn of Staunton, Bob (Jody) Bruhn of Mt. Olive, Mark Bruhn of Staunton; 0ne daughter: Melissa (Chris) Bruhn-Cozart of Staunton; two sisters: Betty (Peter) Strohbehn and Donna(Ivan) Booth; eleven grandchildren: Nicholas Bruhn, Kyle (Sherry) Bruhn, Joshua (Megan) Bruhn, Jacob Bruhn, Tim Bruhn, Seth Bruhn, Savannah Bruhn, Hailee Abernathy, Troy Jr. Abernathy, Kassidy Abernathy,and Connor Abernathy; Two great grandchildren: Audrey Bruhn and Blake "Shorty" Bruhn. Wayne is also survived by his beloved Boston Terrier,Butch, who never left his side.

Wayne was preceded in death by his Parents and four brothers: Harry Bruhn, Donald Bruhn, Robert Bruhn, and Gerald Bruhn.

Graveside Service and Burial: 11:00 am, Thursday, July 23, 2015, Memorial Park Cemetery, Staunton, IL

Lunch: for family and friends will be held at the Staunton VFW, Staunton, IL. following the service.
Memorials: Elbon Shrine Club, 605 South Laurel, Staunton, Illinois, for The Shriners Hospital.
